Subaru Kenya is a division of ECTA (Kenya) Limited a limited liability company incorporated in 1965 and an established and experienced motor vehicle importer and distributor in East Africa with over 40 years experience in the automobile industry.Since 1985, ECTA has been the sole franchise holder and exclusive distributor of the Subaru range of motor vehicles in East Africa and has taken the initiative in introducing the latest models suitable for our country as and when they are released from Japan.

Subaru Kenya is divided into 5 sections. These include the following: New Cars Section, Quality Used Cars Section, Parts and Service, Workshop and the Administration.

History & Nature of Business

ECTA Kenya has been operational in East Africa over the last 42 years as a registered motor business. The Subaru Kenya divisions principal business activities fall under the following lines:

  1. Importation of the Subaru range of motor vehicles.
  2. Sale of motor vehicles and spare parts.
  3. Servicing of motor vehicles in the company's workshop.
  4. Development, expansion and support of the independent dealers network in East Africa.

In recent years, the range of Subaru vehicles available in the Kenyan, Tanzanian and Ugandan markets has been expanded.

Today the company has in its showrooms the following models: Impreza, Legacy, Outback, Forester and Tribeca in different engine capacity, specification and derivatives (station wagons & saloons).

The customer also has a choice of automatic and manual transmission models.In 1997, the company embarked on a major expansion programme culminating in the purchase of a large show room along Mombasa Road in Nairobi, which was later followed by introduction of up to date maintenance and motor vehicle inspection equipment at the main workshop along Athi River Road in the Industrial area.

ECTA's primary objective is to become one of the most focused companies in the Motor industry and make every owner of the Subaru range of motor vehicles proud of their investment.
