Your all-round protection is our first priority.

With the Forester, Subaru is aiming for world-class levels of safety. In that respect, this is vehicle which will look to guarantee your personal peace of mind in an SUV. Look at the Ring-Shaped Reinforcement Frames for starters. Then consider dual airbags as standard, backed up with active headrests to protect against whiplash injury. It's protecting you and passengers all-round, to add to everyone's driving pleasure.

Airbags, seatbelts and active headrests

SRS* dual front airbags** are standard, as are front side airbags for passenger and driver protection. Active headrests move forward automatically in rear collisions to cradle the neck against whiplash. Front seatbelts have high output pretensioners and load limiters, while child tether anchors and ISO-FIX child seat anchors are fitted as standard, too. The overall effect, in any accidental impact, is to increase safety levels for everyone on board.
*SRS= Supplemental Restraint System. Most effective when used in conjunction with seatbelts.
** With a two-stage inflator on the passenger side.

Ring-Shaped Reinforcement Frames

This all - embracing ring-ribbed safety cage combines roof, door and window pillars and floor into one strong, ener gy-absorbing framework. It encloses the whole passenger cabin, ready to dissipate impact energy no matter which direction it comes from. Reinforced protection extends to front, side and rear of the body. It's like a safety shield all-round the car.

Pedestrian protection

Putting more distance between the aluminium bonnet and the engine means better performance in pedestrian impacts. Adding in energy-absorbing front bumpers and breakaway module wipers means that if the worst comes to the worst, damage is minimised with the Forester. That's a Subaru commitment.
