Subaru's basic instinct: to avoid hazards.

Given the benefits of Symmetrical AWD, working for you non-stop, risks and accidents are there to be avoided at all costs, whenever possible. Cornering grip and traction under different road conditions are assured, as is the instant electronic control of torque distribution, to help you move away from trouble in a calm and predictable way.

ABS braking

Being able to brake hard and steer away from hazards at the same time is a must for a sporting car like Impreza. When braking hard to avoid hazards in an emergency, the standard 4-sensor/4-channel ABS system controls the brake pressure on the each individual wheel to maintain steering control. Electronic Brake-force Distribution also minimises braking distances under varying load conditions, so even when fully loaded, the rear end is always getting the full benefit of the Impreza's powerful disc brakes.

Seeing safer

It's easier to see where you're going in an Impreza, since the cabin layout has been d esigned to cut down on intrusions from pillars and posts. Allied to mirrors that stay cleaner, longer, and high-intensity HID headlamps*, it all helps you keep potential blind spots to a minimum.

*HID headlamps are standard on the WRX models, optional on the 2.0R models
