When all else fails, and a collision can't be avoided, the Legacy is designed to respond to ensure your safety because your protection is Subaru's priority. Look at the Ring-Shaped Reinforcement Frames surrounding the cabin. Then take in the dual airbags as standard. They're backed up with active headrests that soften the impact of collision injury. Everything is provided to surround you and your passengers in a cocoon of security, wherever you're going.

Seatbelts, airbags and active headrests

Front seatbelts have pretensioners that tighten the belt on shock and harness passengers properly. The load limiters lessen undue force imposed on shoulders and chests. Adaptive two-stage dual SRS* front airbags, dual front side and curtain airbags give cushioning protection on impacts. Active headrests in front automatically move forward to cradle vulnerable heads and necks against whiplash injuries. Child tether anchors are fitted, naturally, as are ISO-FIX child-seat anchors as standard.

Pedestrian protection

Minimising pedestrian injury is also a major issue for Subaru. So, there's generous clearance between bonnet and engine, in case of impact. Along with shock-absorbing bonnet hinges, front bumpers and wings, and breakaway module windscreen wipers, it clearly shows how highly we value the Legacy's pedestrian friendliness.

Ring-Shaped Reinforcement Frames

The Legacy's body is lightweight for the excellent driving performance and its rigid structure acts as a safeguard. An all-embracing safety cage enfolds the whole passenger cabin. Linked reinforcements to roof, pillars and floor are immensely strong, to dissipate and absorb enormous amounts of energy in impacts from any direction. In turn, this protective shield means those inside are as well-protected as they could possibly be.
