Three-way control at will...

SI-DRIVE (SUBARU Intelligent Drive)* brings a new dimension to your driving experience - letting you select three different drive modes to suit your preferences and the various driving conditions. It lets you control engine and transmission characteristics, with feedback to a multi-information display that tells you exactly what's going on. So, you can opt for the smooth, fuel-efficient Intelligent mode for city performance, then switch to Sport mode for the open road, and onto Sport Sharp mode for all-out exploitation of the 3.0-litre engine's ability.

Communicate with your car

By looking at the multi-information and ECO gauge displays, then dialing in whichever mode suits you and the situation best, you're effectively tuning your engine from the driver's seat. Given the benefits of Symmetrical AWD and SUBARU BOXER, what could be more satisfying?

1. Multi-information display
The current mode is shown on the LCD display in the tachometer.
2. ECO gauge
The ECO gauge located in the speedometer, showing current and average fuel consumption. Keeping the gauge in the zone on the right as you drive means you will get better than average fuel economy.
3. S# switch
Push for the Sport Sharp mode when needed, for example, when joining a motorway or overtaking. Even in Intelligent mode, you can switch to this instantly, while an extra push returns it to the previous mode.
4. SI-DRIVE selector
Push for the Intelligent mode. Turn to the left for the Sport mode, and turn to the right for the Sport Sharp mode.

3 Engines in 1

Intelligent Mode

Aimed at delivering smoothness, comfort and ideal fuel economy around town and on longer cruising. Acceleration response is moderate, but there are still ample reserves of power. The shift-up indicator on MT models shows the optimal shift points, for more fuel-efficient driving.

Sport Mode

This is the optimal mode recommended for all-round use. It gives you linear response in day-to-day driving or on motorways, with satisfying engine power on tap whenever you need to build up speed quickly.

Sport Sharp Mode

Made to make the most of the 3.0-litre DOHC's power potential, regardless of load. It rewards spirited driving with full performance and instant throttle response. It's the perfect way to enjoy the full taste of the Legacy's true sporting genes, and savour its driving pleasure to the maximum.
