After a two-decade hiatus, rally action finally zooms back to Embu this weekend with the second leg of the Kenya National Rally Championship (KNRC).

The KCB Biashara Banking race will take the drivers to Embu and Runyenjes areas, where some 39 entrants will be battling for honours.

KNRC defending champion and Dalbit Petroleum-sponsored Carl ‘Flash' Tundo, said yesterday the Embu route will be a new challenge to drivers since no one has a previous experience. “The roads are smooth and wide. It will be perfect for fast drivers, but it also carries its challenges as they must watch out for the a few rough sections,” he said.

Tundo, who is navigated by Tim Jessop in a Subaru Impreza N10, also noted that the region is densely-populated, saying drivers will have to exercise a high degree of caution.
